My lesson from the Odyssey

After reading the Odyssey, I felt that the lesson they were trying to portray was to be careful of what you say. I came to this conclusion because when Odysseus was leaving the cyclops after hurting his eye, he screamed his actual name letting the cyclops know who he was. After that the cyclops told Poseidon, who made Odysseus' journey almost impossible. Since Odysseus made this carless mistake it took him twenty years to get home.  Be careful of what you say because it just might come back to hurt you.
